Easter 2012 & Milo!

A belated Happy Easter!  We celebrated by spending last Saturday with my side of the family at my sister's house.

Waiting for the Easter egg hunt to begin...so serious.
A picture with Grandpa and Grandma Gehl.  Even little Pete joined the picture...much to Copper's chagrin since Copper spent the afternoon in our car.
A quick family photo of the 3 of us after church.  Charlie was extra "spirited" during church and I don't think that it was the spirit of Easter that got to him, it was the sitting still and listening to mom and dad.  It is hard to be an active two-year-old boy some days.
What do you get if you misbehave during church?  Whatever you want if you are with your grandparents :).  Charlie loved driving the lawn mower around Steve and Jan's backyard.
Despite his indiscretions during church, the Easter Bunny found Charlie and gave him a new Winnie the Pooh book, a helicopter/bubble maker, M&M's, a recorder, and a velcro ball/"glove" thing.
We went back to Cascade yesterday to meet our new nephew, Miles (Milo), who was born on Tuesday.  Charlie entertained himself for most of the drive back by putting on his mittens and then asking me to hold everything for him.

BJ holding his nephew Milo for the first time - he is such a cute baby and sweet little boy!
Milo checking out his dad and big brother Max.  We won't see Milo for a few weeks so I trust that we'll be updated pictures (hint, hint) so that we recognize him when we see him in a month!
In other news, Sweet Pea and I continue to grow.  We had the chance to find out what we were having last week at our ultrasound and although tempting, we agreed to wait again until delivery day.  I've asked Charlie a few times if he thinks it is a "girl baby" or a "boy baby" and he responds with "a big baby".  He might be traumatized with how large my stomach will become in the next few months!

Weekend Fun

Charlie and I were on our own this weekend while BJ went to Arizona to see his cousin Sam.  I have a new appreciation for single parents and I would love to bottle up a portion of Charlie's energy...I think that it would put Red Bull and those 5 Hour Energy drinks to shame.

We had some bad storms on Thursday night so I brought a flashlight (a/k/a best toy ever) to Charlie's room to read books because our lights flickered a few times.  Charlie quickly figured out how to turn the flashlight on and I ended reading 3 books with the flashlight beam pointed directly at my face like I was being interrogated.  I just hope that he's always on the dark end of an interrogation light beam.

On Saturday, we met my mom, sister and 3 of my nieces at Coral Ridge mall for a few hours to celebrate my Mom's birthday.  I'm not sure that it was much a birthday celebration for my mom since we spent the entire time in the food court, on the carousel, in the children's museum or in the play area, but the kids seemed to have a good time.
First carousel ride - it was a big hit!
A quick picture of Grandma and the kids after leaving the play area.  I swear that Charlie puts his hands in his mouth right after leaving a germ-infested place like the mall play area to bother me...I am always 30 seconds too late with the Purell.

Charlie was pretty worn out after our fun at the mall and he fell asleep with his sunglasses on upside down a few minutes after we started heading home.
We had a fun weekend, but we are definitely ready to see BJ later tonight/tomorrow morning!
